Neetu Tandon is a bioinformatics and scientific marketing professional with over twenty years of experience in regulatory genomics, biological databases, and systems biology. Operating at the intersection of science and business, she aligns geneXplain’s scientific capabilities with the strategic research goals of academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical partners, enabling the translation of complex omics data into actionable mechanistic insights.

Professional Journey

Neetu’s career reflects a strong integration of scientific expertise, platform experience, and strategic engagement. As a long-standing member of the geneXplain team, she has contributed across platform usability testing, bioinformatics data analysis, scientific content development, customer support, and global marketing initiatives. She led usability testing for database releases and pipeline updates, ensuring reliability, performance, and a seamless user experience for researchers worldwide.

Prior to her current role, she served as a Senior Curator at QIAGEN BIOBASE, where she contributed to the expansion of the TRANSFAC® database through the systematic extraction and validation of transcriptional regulation data from peer-reviewed literature.

Earlier in her career, as a Molecular Biologist, she worked on gene cloning and expression studies for monoclonal antibody production, providing her with a strong experimental foundation that complements her computational expertise.

Education & Expertise

Neetu holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Rajasthan, India. She is a certified Medical Writer and has received professional training at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology (HKI), Jena, Germany, further strengthening her expertise in bioinformatics and systems biology.

She provides high-level support across several specialized domains:

  • Regulatory Genomics: Transcription factor binding site (TFBS) analysis and promoter/enhancer interpretation.
  • Systems Biology: Master regulator identification, pathway reconstruction, and multi-omics data analysis.
  • Scientific Communication: Authoring technical documentation, blog posts, and educational content to make advanced computational approaches accessible to the global research community.
